President Obama releasing his other birth certificate was a shrewd play because it forever enshrines Donald Trump as a racist in the history books.

The Donald will forever be remembered as "the guy who made President Obama show his birth certificate”. Trump can never recant now that President Obama has released it; in other words, he no longer has the option of ‘taking it all back’ and clearing his name.

President Obama released his other certificate exactly when people were realizing that racism was the underlying motivation of the birthers.

What is particularly glorious is that Trump’s own hubris was the final nail in his coffin when he, himself, claimed that he made President Obama release his birth certificate.

The birther movement is now over. The history books have slammed shut and those who were the public faces of the birthers are frozen in time inside, forever haunted by their own foolhardiness.

I think that the small b in birther should now be changed to a capital B – “birther” becomes “Birther” so it can take its place in History.
